Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety during repairs.
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, screwdriver set, safety goggles, gloves.
2. Access the Fuel Level Sending Unit
  • Raise the rear of the vehicle using jack stands for safety.
  • Remove the fuel tank access cover if available, or lower the fuel tank if access is through the bottom.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines carefully, using a fuel line disconnect tool if necessary.
  • Remove any bolts securing the sending unit and carefully lift it out of the tank.
3. Inspect and Replace the Fuel Level Sending Unit
  • Visually inspect the sending unit for corrosion or damage to the float and arm.
  • If damaged, replace the sending unit with a new one.
  • Reinstall the sending unit into the fuel tank and secure it with bolts.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and ensure all connections are tight.
4. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach the fuel tank access cover if applicable.
  • Reconnect the vehicle's battery.
  • Start the vehicle and check for any fuel leaks around the sending unit.
  • Test the fuel gauge operation by observing the readings while adding fuel.
