Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: jack stands, socket set, torque wrench, pry bar, and replacement parts as necessary.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface, and engage the parking brake.
2. Inspect and Replace Worn Components
  1. Suspension Inspection

    • Remove the front wheels using a socket set.
    • Visually inspect control arms, ball joints, and tie rod ends for any signs of wear or play.
    • If any components are worn, proceed to replace them.
  2. CV Joint Inspection

    • Inspect the CV joints and boots. If the boot is damaged or the joint is worn, replace the CV axle.
    • To replace the CV axle:
      • Remove the axle nut using a socket.
      • Unbolt the lower control arm to free the axle from the hub.
      • Remove the axle from the transmission side by prying it out gently with a pry bar.
  3. Wheel Bearing Inspection

    • Check for play in the wheel bearings by shaking the wheel while off the ground. If there is any play, replace the wheel bearings.
    • To replace the wheel bearing:
      • Remove the brake assembly and hub.
      • Use a bearing puller to remove the old bearing and press in a new bearing using a hydraulic press.
3. Reassembly
  • Reattach all removed components, ensuring proper torque specifications are followed (consult the service manual for specific torque values).
  • Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
