Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials needed: new key fob battery (typically CR2032), small Phillips screwdriver, and a multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area.
2. Battery Replacement
  1. Using the small Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws on the back of the key fob.
  2. Carefully open the key fob casing to access the battery.
  3. Remove the old battery and note the orientation of the positive (+) and negative (-) sides.
  4. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  5. Reassemble the key fob casing and tighten the screws securely.
3. Reprogramming the Key Fob
  1. Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  3. Press and hold the unlock button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  4. While holding the unlock button, press the lock button 3 times within 10 seconds.
  5. Release the unlock button; the vehicle should respond with a locking/unlocking sound indicating successful reprogramming.
