Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Use wheel chocks and jack stands for safety.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle depending on where the noise is coming from.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands.
3. Inspect and Replace Shock Absorbers/Struts
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench
  • Remove the wheels to access the suspension components.
  • Unbolt the top and bottom of the shock absorber/strut using the socket set.
  • Replace with new shock absorbers/struts if leaks or damage are found.
  • Torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
4. Replace Sway Bar Links
  • Tools Required: Wrench set
  • Locate the sway bar links and unbolt them from the sway bar and lower control arm.
  • Install new sway bar links and torque to specifications.
5. Inspect and Replace Ball Joints
  • Tools Required: Ball joint separator, socket set
  • Remove the wheel and inspect the ball joints for play.
  • If necessary, unbolt and replace the ball joint using a ball joint separator.
  • Torque the new ball joint to the appropriate specification.
6. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Ensure all bolts and nuts are torqued to specifications.
