Solution
1. Using an OBD-II Scanner
  1. Locate the OBD-II port, typically found under the dashboard near the driver's side.
  2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the port.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine.
  4. Navigate to the "Read Codes" option on the scanner to check for DTCs.
  5. Select "Clear Codes" after resolving any issues to reset the Check Engine Light.
2. Disconnecting the Battery
  1. Turn off the engine and ensure all electrical components are off.
  2. Open the hood and locate the battery.
  3. Use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative (-) terminal first, then the positive (+) terminal.
  4. Wait for at least 15 minutes to allow the vehicle’s computer to reset.
  5. Reconnect the positive (+) terminal first, followed by the negative (-) terminal, and ensure they are tightened securely.
3. Drive Cycle
  1. Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
  2. Drive the vehicle under various conditions (city and highway) to complete a normal drive cycle.
  3. Monitor the dashboard for any re-illuminated CEL during or after the drive cycle.
