Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Gather safety equipment such as safety glasses and gloves.
2. Change Engine Oil and Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set, oil catch pan, funnel.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench and allow the old oil to drain completely into the catch pan.
  • Replace the oil filter using the oil filter wrench.
  • Install a new oil filter and hand-tighten it.
  • Reinstall the oil drain plug and torque to manufacturer specifications (usually around 30 lb-ft).
  • Fill with new engine oil as specified in the owner's manual (typically 5W-30 or 0W-30).
3. Inspect and Replace Air and Cabin Filters
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver set (if applicable), new air filter, new cabin filter.
  • Open the hood and locate the air filter housing; remove the cover.
  • Remove the old air filter and replace it with a new one.
  • For the cabin filter, access the filter compartment (usually behind the glove box).
  • Remove the old cabin filter and install the new one.
4. Check and Maintain Fluids
  • Inspect all fluids: brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid.
  • Top off fluids as necessary, using the recommended types as specified in the owner's manual.
  • Change brake fluid every 2 years or as needed.
5. Tire Maintenance
  • Tools Required: Tire pressure gauge, tire iron, torque wrench.
  • Check tire pressure and adjust to the recommended PSI listed on the door jamb sticker.
  • Inspect tread depth; replace tires if tread is below 2/32 inches.
  • Rotate tires every 5,000-7,500 miles to ensure even wear.
6. Brake Inspection
  • Visually inspect brake pads and rotors for wear.
  • If pads are less than 3 mm thick, replace them.
  • If rotors are scored or warped, replace or resurface as necessary.
