Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, screwdriver set, and a new key fob battery if needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked safely with the engine off and the key fob within range.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the key fob using a small flathead screwdriver.
  2. Remove the old battery carefully and note its orientation.
  3. Insert the new battery (CR2032 or as specified) in the same orientation.
  4. Reassemble the key fob and test the remote start functionality.
3. Check and Charge Vehicle Battery
  1. Inspect the vehicle battery terminals for corrosion and clean if needed.
  2. Use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage. If below 12.4 volts, charge the battery using a battery charger.
  3. Recheck the voltage after charging to ensure it holds above 12.4 volts.
4. Reset Remote Start System
  1. Sit inside the vehicle with the key fob.
  2. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  3. Wait for approximately 10 seconds, then turn the ignition off.
  4. Repeat this process three times; on the third time, leave the key in the "ON" position. This will reset the remote start system.
5. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Access the vehicle's settings through the infotainment system.
  2. Navigate to "Key Fob Settings" and follow the prompts to reprogram the key fob.
  3. Test the remote start function after reprogramming.
