Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, small flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032 or as specified).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and turned off.
2. Replace Remote Key Battery
  1. Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the remote key fob.
  2. Remove the old battery carefully, taking note of the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  3. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Snap the remote key fob back together securely.
3. Reprogram Remote Key (if necessary)
  1. Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Within 10 seconds, press the "Unlock" button on the remote key for approximately 5 seconds.
  4. Turn the key back to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition.
  5. Test the remote key to see if it functions correctly.
4. Check for Fault Codes
  1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
  2. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position.
  3. Scan for any codes related to the body control module or remote key system.
  4. Record any fault codes and refer to the service manual for further troubleshooting if codes are found.
