Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
    • Clean cloth
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the glove compartment: Open the glove box and remove any contents.
  2. Detach the glove compartment: Use a flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool to gently pry off the stops on either side of the glove compartment to allow it to drop down completely.
  3. Remove the access cover: Locate the cover for the cabin air filter, typically found behind the glove compartment. Unclip or unscrew the cover to access the filter.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Pull out the old filter: Carefully slide the old cabin air filter out of its housing, noting the direction of airflow indicated on the filter.
  2. Inspect the filter area: Clean any debris or dust from the filter housing using a clean cloth.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Insert the new filter: Align the new cabin air filter according to the airflow direction arrow. Slide it into the filter housing.
  2. Reattach the access cover: Secure the cover back into place by snapping or screwing it back on.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Reattach the glove compartment: Lift the glove compartment back into position and secure the stops on both sides.
  2. Close the glove box: Ensure it closes properly and check that all contents are returned.
