Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Gather tools and safety equipment (gloves, safety glasses).
2. Inspect and Top Off Power Steering Fluid
  • Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  • Remove the cap and check the fluid level against the dipstick.
  • If low, add the recommended power steering fluid until it reaches the proper level.
  • Check for leaks in hoses and connections.
3. Inspect Serpentine Belt
  • Use a socket set to remove any covers obstructing access to the serpentine belt.
  • Visually inspect the belt for cracks, fraying, or glazing.
  • If damaged, replace the serpentine belt with one that meets OEM specifications.
    • Required torque for tensioner pulley: 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
4. Transmission and Differential Fluid Check
  • Safely lift the vehicle using jack stands.
  • Locate the transmission pan and the differential cover.
  • Check fluid levels using the respective dipsticks or fill plugs.
  • If low, add the appropriate transmission fluid or differential oil as per manufacturer specifications.
5. Replace Components if Necessary
  • If the power steering pump, serpentine belt, or any other component is found faulty during inspection, replace them.
    • For power steering pump replacement, disconnect the battery, remove the pump from its mount, and replace with an OEM part.
    • Torque specifications for mounting bolts: 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).
