Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues during repair.
2. Check and Replace Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Socket set, funnel, fluid catch pan, torque wrench
  • Inspect the transmission fluid dipstick to check fluid levels.
  • If low, add the appropriate transmission fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
  • If fluid is burnt or contaminated, proceed to drain and replace:
    1. Place a fluid catch pan underneath the transmission pan.
    2. Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket set and carefully lower the pan.
    3. Discard the old gasket and clean the pan and magnet inside.
    4. Replace the filter if necessary.
    5. Install a new gasket and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
    6. Refill with new transmission fluid using a funnel.
3. Inspect and Replace Transmission Control Module (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, OBD-II scanner
  • Remove the TCM from its mounting location:
    1. Disconnect the wiring harness from the TCM.
    2. Remove the TCM mounting bolts with a socket set.
    3. Install the new TCM by reversing the removal steps.
    4. Reconnect the battery and clear any error codes.
