Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  1. Remove the wheel:
    • Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts.
    • Lift the vehicle with a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  2. Check CV joints:
    • Inspect the boots for any cracks or grease leakage.
    • If damaged, proceed to replace the CV joint.
  3. Remove the CV axle:
    • Unbolt the axle nut with a socket and ratchet.
    • Disconnect the axle from the transmission and pull it out of the hub.
  4. Install new CV joint:
    • Insert the new CV joint into the hub and transmission.
    • Torque the axle nut to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 150 lb-ft).
  5. Reinstall the wheel:
    • Place the wheel back on and tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern.
3. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components
  1. Check suspension bushings:
    • Inspect control arm bushings for cracks or excessive wear.
    • If worn, remove the control arm by unbolting it from the chassis and the wheel hub.
  2. Replace bushings:
    • Use a press to install new bushings into the control arm.
    • Reattach the control arm and torque bolts to specifications.
  3. Inspect struts and shocks:
    • Check for leaks or damage; replace if necessary.
