Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and safe.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  1. Remove the engine cover if equipped.
  2. Use a socket set to remove the spark plug wires or ignition coils.
  3. Remove the spark plugs using a spark plug socket and ratchet.
  4. Inspect the plugs for wear or deposits; replace with OEM spark plugs if necessary.
  5. Ensure proper torque (typically 15-20 lb-ft) when installing new plugs.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  1. Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  2. Use a throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the interior of the throttle body.
  3. Ensure the throttle plate moves freely and is not obstructed.
  4. Reattach the air intake duct securely.
4. Replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor (if needed)
  1. Locate the coolant temperature sensor on the engine block.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor using a socket.
  3. Install the new sensor and reconnect the electrical plug.
  4. Top off the coolant if necessary.
5. Check and Replace the MAF Sensor (if needed)
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor.
  2. Remove the MAF sensor from the air intake duct using a screwdriver.
  3. Inspect for dirt or damage; clean or replace as necessary.
  4. Reinstall the MAF sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
