Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools needed: multimeter, socket set, screwdriver, and possibly replacement bulbs.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
2. Inspect and Replace Bulbs
  • Remove the headlight assembly by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the headlight.
  • Remove the headlight bulb by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it out.
  • Inspect the bulb for damage; replace with a new bulb if necessary.
  • Reinstall the new bulb by inserting it and turning it clockwise until secure.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness and reassemble the headlight assembly.
3. Inspect Wiring and Connections
  • Check the wiring harness for any signs of damage or loose connections.
  • Clean any corroded terminals with electrical contact cleaner.
  • Secure any loose connections by tightening them or replacing connectors as needed.
4. Test Voltage Supply
  • Reconnect the battery and start the vehicle.
  • With the multimeter, measure the voltage at the headlight connectors.
  • Ensure the voltage is between 12.5 - 14.5 volts while the engine is running.
  • If voltage is low, check the battery and alternator for issues.
5. Alternator and Battery Check
  • Ensure the alternator is outputting the correct voltage (around 13.5 - 14.5 volts).
  • If the alternator is faulty, replace it according to manufacturer specifications.
  • If the battery is weak or failing, replace it and ensure proper connections.
