Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, tire pressure gauge, jack and jack stands, wrench set.
  • Ensure vehicle is parked on a flat surface and turn off the ignition.
2. Verify Tire Pressure
  • Use a manual tire pressure gauge to check the pressure of each tire.
  • Inflate tires to the recommended pressure as indicated on the driver’s door jamb sticker.
3. Inspect and Replace TPMS Sensors (if necessary)
  • Remove Wheel Covers (if applicable):

    • Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off wheel covers without damaging them.
  • Remove the Tire:

    • Loosen the lug nuts with a wrench.
    • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and secure with jack stands.
    • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the tire.
  • Inspect the TPMS Sensor:

    • Locate the TPMS sensor attached to the inner wheel rim.
    • Check for corrosion or damage.
  • Replace the TPMS Sensor:

    • If necessary, remove the valve stem nut and pull out the old sensor.
    • Insert a new TPMS sensor and secure with the valve stem nut to the specified torque (typically 4-5 Nm).
4. Reinstall Wheel and Reset TPMS
  • Place the tire back onto the wheel hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually 100-110 Nm).
  • Reset the TPMS: Follow the vehicle’s manual to perform the reset procedure.
