Solution
1. Preparation

  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Remove the Ignition Coil
  1. Locate the ignition coil on the engine (typically near the spark plugs).
  2. Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition coil.
  3. Remove the mounting bolts holding the ignition coil in place using a socket set.
  4. Carefully pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
3. Inspect and Test
  1. Check the ignition coil for visible signs of damage (cracks, burn marks).
  2. Using a multimeter, measure the primary and secondary resistance of the coil.
    • Primary resistance should be within the range specified in the service manual (typically around 0.4 to 2 ohms).
    • Secondary resistance should be within the range of 6,000 to 15,000 ohms.

4. Install New Ignition Coil
