Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, Torque wrench, Screwdrivers, Multimeter
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before starting work to prevent electrical shock.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Remove the Ignition Coil
  1. Locate the ignition coil(s) on the engine (typically on top of the spark plugs).
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the tab and pulling it off the ignition coil.
  3. Remove the bolt securing the ignition coil using a socket wrench.
  4. Gently pull the ignition coil straight out of the cylinder head. If it is stuck, lightly twist while pulling.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  1. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to aid installation.
  2. Insert the new ignition coil into the cylinder head, ensuring it is seated properly.
  3. Reinstall the bolt that secures the ignition coil, tightening it to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 7-10 Nm).
  4. Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
5. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the previously removed bolts.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
