Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Use a socket set to remove bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Fuel Injectors
  • Locate the fuel injectors on the fuel rail.
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors from each fuel injector by pressing the tab and pulling upward.
  • Use a fuel line disconnect tool if necessary to remove the fuel lines attached to the fuel rail.
4. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold using a socket set.
  • Gently lift the fuel rail along with the injectors out of the engine bay.
5. Replace Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the old injectors from the fuel rail by pulling them straight out.
  • Lubricate the O-rings of the new fuel injectors with clean engine oil.
  • Insert the new injectors into the fuel rail until they click into place.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Position the fuel rail with new injectors back onto the intake manifold.
  • Secure the fuel rail with the bolts removed earlier, tightening them to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
7. Reconnect Fuel Lines and Electrical Connectors
  • Reattach the fuel lines to the fuel rail, ensuring they click into place securely.
  • Connect the electrical connectors to each fuel injector.
8. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the bolts.
9. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the injectors and rail.
  • Monitor engine performance to ensure proper functioning.
