Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface with the ignition off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
2. Remove the Left Front Wheel
  1. Loosen the lug nuts on the left front wheel.
  2. Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the left front wheel.
3. Inspect and Replace Wheel Speed Sensor
  1. Locate the left front wheel speed sensor on the brake assembly.
  2. Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector.
  3. Remove the mounting bolt(s) securing the sensor using a socket.
  4. Gently pull the sensor out of its housing.
  5. Install the new wheel speed sensor by reversing the removal steps:
    • Insert the new sensor into the housing.
    • Secure it with the mounting bolt(s) and tighten to manufacturer specifications (typically around 10-15 Nm).
    • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Reassemble and Test
  1. Reinstall the left front wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  2. Lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
  3. Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications (usually 100-120 Nm).
  4. Reconnect the battery.
5. Clear Error Codes
  1. Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the C0031 code.
  2. Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
