Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Wear safety goggles and gloves.
2. Check Brake Fluid
  • Remove the master cylinder cap.
  • Inspect brake fluid level; if low, top off with the correct type of brake fluid (usually DOT 3 or DOT 4).
  • If the fluid is contaminated (dark or gritty), proceed to flush the brake system.
3. Inspect and Repair Leaks
  • Visually inspect all brake lines, hoses, and connections for leaks.
  • If any leaks are found, replace the damaged components using a flare wrench.
  • Tighten any loose connections to prevent fluid loss.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Begin bleeding at the wheel furthest from the master cylinder (usually the rear passenger side).
  • Attach a clear hose to the bleeder valve on the brake caliper and submerge the other end in a container with brake fluid.
  • Have an assistant press the brake pedal while you open the bleeder valve, allowing air and fluid to escape.
  • Close the valve before releasing the brake pedal.
  • Repeat until no air bubbles are present in the fluid, then move to the next wheel in the following order: rear driver side, front passenger side, and finally front driver side.
5. Test Drive and Final Inspection
  • After reassembling any components, take the vehicle for a short test drive to check for proper brake function.
  • Recheck the brake fluid level after the test drive and add more if necessary.
