Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools:
    • Small Phillips screwdriver
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Multimeter
    • New key fob battery (CR2032)
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob case at the seam.
    • Take care not to damage the internal components during this process.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Once open, identify the battery holder.
    • Note the orientation of the battery (positive side facing up) before removing it.
    • Remove the old battery carefully.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Place the new CR2032 battery into the holder, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
    • Press down gently to secure the battery in place.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they snap back into place.
    • Ensure that there are no gaps or loose sections.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Press and hold the lock button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
    • Release the button and turn the key back to "Off" and remove it from the ignition.
    • Test the key fob by pressing the lock/unlock buttons.
