Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver (or similar), new key fob battery (CR2032), and a soft cloth.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be cautious to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Carefully remove the old battery and note the orientation.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring it is oriented correctly (+ side facing up).
  • Snap the key fob casing back together ensuring it clicks into place.
4. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press any button on the key fob to check for functionality.
  • If the vehicle responds, the repair is successful. If not, proceed to the next step.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • If the key fob still does not work, it may need to be reprogrammed:
    1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
    2. Press and hold the "Lock" button on the key fob for 3 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
    4. Test the key fob again.
