Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
2. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  • Tools Required: Socket set, jack stands, torque wrench.
  • Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel to access the CV joint.
  • Inspect the CV joint for torn boots or excessive play.
    • If damaged, proceed to replace:
      • Remove the retaining clip and slide the CV joint off the axle.
      • Install the new CV joint, ensuring it is seated properly.
      • Reattach the retaining clip.
3. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings
  • Tools Required: Bearing puller, socket set, torque wrench.
  • With the wheel still removed, check for wheel bearing play by grabbing the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and rocking it back and forth.
    • If play is detected, replace the bearing:
      • Remove the brake caliper and rotor.
      • Use a bearing puller to extract the old bearing.
      • Install the new bearing and reassemble the rotor and caliper.
4. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, pry bar.
  • Check control arms and bushings for wear or damage.
    • If bushings are cracked or worn:
      • Remove the control arm by unbolting it from the chassis and the steering knuckle.
      • Replace the bushings if necessary and reassemble.
5. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheel and lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
  • Tighten all wheel bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
