Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off and cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
2. Recharge the AC System
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant canister, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Attach the manifold gauges to the low and high-pressure service ports of the AC system.
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC to the maximum setting.
  • Check the pressure readings on the gauges. If low, proceed to recharge.
  • Connect the refrigerant canister to the low-pressure service port.
  • Open the valve on the canister gradually, allowing refrigerant to enter the system until the appropriate pressure is reached.
  • Disconnect the canister and replace the service port caps.
3. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver (if necessary), new cabin air filter.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel, typically behind the glove compartment.
  • Remove the panel or glove compartment as needed to access the filter.
  • Take out the old cabin air filter and inspect it for dirt and debris.
  • Insert the new cabin air filter, ensuring the airflow direction matches the markings.
  • Reassemble the access panel or glove compartment.
4. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, new AC compressor, refrigerant oil.
  • Locate the AC compressor in the engine bay.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and refrigerant lines (recover refrigerant if necessary).
  • Remove the compressor mounting bolts and take out the compressor.
  • Install the new compressor, applying the correct amount of refrigerant oil.
  • Reconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connector.
  • Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
