Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather required tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.

Tools Required:

  • Jack and jack stands
  • Socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Strut spring compressor
  • Pliers
  • Screwdriver set
  • Impact wrench (optional)
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on which struts you are replacing.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure stability.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Using a socket set, loosen and remove the lug nuts.
  • Take off the wheel to access the strut assembly.
4. Remove the Strut Assembly
  • Locate the upper strut mount bolts (usually found in the engine bay or trunk).
  • Remove the upper strut mount bolts using a socket set.
  • Disconnect any brake lines or sensors attached to the strut.
  • Remove the lower strut bolts connecting the strut to the knuckle using the socket set.
  • Carefully pull the strut assembly out from the vehicle.
5. Install New Struts
  • Use a strut spring compressor to compress the spring on the new strut assembly.
  • Carefully remove the old strut from the spring using the spring compressor.
  • Install the spring onto the new strut assembly and secure it according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Reinstall the strut assembly into the vehicle, first securing the lower bolts, then the upper mount bolts.
  • Reattach any brake lines or sensors disconnected earlier.
6. Reinstall the Wheel
  • Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove the jack.
  • Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
7. Final Check
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Perform a visual inspection to ensure everything is secured properly.
