Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:

    • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
    • Phillips screwdriver (if screws are present)
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off and the keys removed from the ignition.

2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  • Locate the stops on either side of the glove compartment and gently push them inward to allow the compartment to drop further down.
  • If necessary, remove any screws or clips securing the panel above the filter access area.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  • Locate the filter cover, which may be a plastic cover or a panel secured by clips.
  • Carefully unclip or unscrew the cover to access the cabin air filter.
  • Pull the old cabin air filter straight out of its housing, noting the orientation of the filter for proper installation of the new one.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  • Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented the same way as the old filter (there should be an airflow direction indicator on the filter).
  • Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing, making sure it fits snugly.
  • Reattach the filter cover by snapping or screwing it back into place.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  • Lift the glove compartment back into position and push the stops back into place to secure it.
  • Replace any screws or clips removed earlier.
6. Final Check
  • Close the glove compartment and start the vehicle.
  • Turn on the climate control system to check for proper airflow.
