Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set (including 10mm and 14mm sockets)
    • Torque wrench
    • Spark plug socket (with rubber insert)
    • Extension bar
    • Ratchet
    • Anti-seize compound
    • Torque specifications guide
  • Parts Required:
    • New spark plugs (OEM recommended)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
    • Allow the engine to cool before starting the replacement.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coils on top of the engine, typically near the spark plug wells.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling them out.
4. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Use a socket to remove the bolts securing each ignition coil in place.
  • Carefully pull each coil out of the spark plug well.
5. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket with an extension to remove each spark plug by turning counterclockwise.
  • Inspect the condition of the old spark plugs for wear or deposits.
6. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Insert each new spark plug into the well and tighten by hand.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 15-20 ft-lbs).
7. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Place each ignition coil back into its respective place and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil, ensuring a firm connection.
8. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the bolts removed in step 2.
9. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
