Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down before proceeding.
2. Inspect Fuel Level Sensor
  • Tools Required: Multimeter, socket set, screwdriver
  • Remove the rear seat or access panel to reach the fuel tank access.
  • Disconnect the fuel level sensor connector.
  • Measure the resistance across the sensor terminals using a multimeter.
    • If the resistance is outside the manufacturer's specifications, proceed to replace the sensor.
3. Replace Fuel Level Sensor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, new fuel level sensor
  • Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump assembly if applicable.
  • Unbolt the fuel pump/sensor assembly from the fuel tank.
  • Remove the old fuel level sensor from the assembly.
  • Install the new fuel level sensor in the assembly.
  • Reassemble the fuel pump/sensor assembly back into the tank and secure it with bolts.
4. Reconnect Components
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and the electrical connector to the fuel level sensor.
  • Reinstall the rear seat or access panel.
  • Reconnect the battery.
5. Test
  • Start the vehicle and observe the fuel gauge for proper operation.
  • Perform a gauge sweep test to ensure full functionality.
