Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and necessary replacement parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and ensure the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to eliminate any electrical hazards.
2. Inspect and Replace Hoses
  • Tools Required: Pliers, socket set
  • Carefully remove the damaged hoses by loosening the clamps.
  • Replace with new hoses, ensuring they are fitted securely and clamps are tightened to manufacturer specifications.
3. Repair or Replace the Radiator
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver, coolant catch pan
  • Drain the coolant by locating the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator.
  • Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses and any electrical connections.
  • Remove the mounting bolts and carefully take out the radiator.
  • Install the new radiator by reversing the removal steps and refilling with coolant.
4. Addressing the Water Pump
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench
  • If the water pump is leaking, drain the coolant as described above.
  • Remove the drive belt from the water pump.
  • Unscrew the water pump mounting bolts and take out the old water pump.
  • Clean the mounting surface, apply gasket sealant if required, and install the new pump.
  • Reattach the drive belt and refill the cooling system.
5. Final Inspection
  • Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
  • Check for leaks around repaired areas and monitor the coolant level.
