Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: manifold gauge set, multimeter, A/C repair kit, basic hand tools.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the vehicle’s battery to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Refrigerant can, manifold gauge set
  • Locate the low-pressure service port on the A/C system.
  • Attach the manifold gauge set to the low-pressure port.
  • Start the engine and turn the A/C to maximum cold.
  • Check the pressure reading on the gauge. If low, proceed to recharge.
  • Connect the refrigerant can to the manifold gauge and open the valve to allow refrigerant to flow into the system until the correct pressure is achieved.
  • Disconnect the manifold gauge and replace the service port cap.
3. Replace A/C Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench
  • If the compressor is non-functional, remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor.
  • Unbolt the compressor from its mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle.
  • Install the new A/C compressor by reversing the removal steps. Ensure all bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
  • Reconnect refrigerant lines and electrical connectors.
4. Check and Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Basic hand tools
  • Open the glove compartment and remove it to access the cabin air filter compartment.
  • Remove the old cabin air filter and inspect for dirt and debris.
  • Install a new cabin air filter, ensuring proper orientation as indicated.
