Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure you are in a well-ventilated area and have the vehicle parked with the engine off.
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver (if necessary to open the key fob)
    • New battery (if the existing battery is dead)
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Open the key fob using a flathead screwdriver, carefully prying it apart.
  • Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring the polarity matches (positive side facing up).
  • Reassemble the key fob and ensure it clicks securely back together.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
    • Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it.
  2. Initiate Key Fob Programming:

    • Press and hold the "Lock" button on the key fob for 5 seconds.
    • While holding the "Lock" button, press and release the "Unlock" button three times.
    • Release the "Lock" button. You should hear a confirmation sound from the vehicle.
  3. Test the Key Fob:

    • Try locking and unlocking the doors and starting the engine to confirm successful reprogramming.
