Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fuel line disconnect tool, OBD-II scanner, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Covers
  • Use a socket set to remove any engine covers obstructing access to the fuel injectors.
  • Keep track of all fasteners for reinstallation.
3. Disconnect Fuel Lines
  • Use the fuel line disconnect tool to safely detach the fuel lines from the injectors.
  • Have a rag handy to catch any residual fuel.
4. Remove Old Fuel Injectors
  • Unscrew the retaining clips or bolts holding the injectors in place using a socket set.
  • Carefully pull the injectors out of the fuel rail, ensuring not to damage the rail or surrounding components.
5. Install New Fuel Injectors
  • Lubricate the O-rings on the new injectors with clean engine oil to ensure a proper seal.
  • Insert the new injectors into the fuel rail and secure them with the retaining clips or bolts.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines, ensuring they are securely attached.
6. Reassemble Engine Components
  • Reinstall any engine covers removed in step 2, tightening fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
7. Test Fuel System
  • Reinstall the fuel pump relay and turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start) to prime the fuel system.
  • Check for leaks around the injector area and fuel lines.
