Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Floor jack
    • Jack stands
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Strut spring compressor (if replacing strut assemblies)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface before lifting.
    • Use jack stands to secure the vehicle after lifting.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a floor jack to lift the vehicle at the designated lift points.
  • Place jack stands securely under the vehicle for safety.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Using a socket set, remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel to access the strut assembly.
4. Inspect and Remove the Strut Assembly
  • Visually inspect the strut for oil leaks or damage.
  • If replacement is needed, remove the strut assembly:
    • Disconnect any brake lines or sensors attached to the strut.
    • Remove the lower strut mounting bolts.
    • Unbolt the strut from the top mount in the engine bay or under the rear seat, depending on the location.
5. Replace or Repair the Strut
  • If replacing, use a strut spring compressor to safely compress the spring and remove it from the old strut.
  • Install the spring onto the new strut, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Reinstall the strut assembly in reverse order of removal, tightening bolts to specified torque values (consult repair manual for exact values).
6. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts, tightening them to the specified torque.
  • Carefully lower the vehicle from the jack stands and check the struts for any issues once back on the ground.
