Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials:
    • Throttle body cleaner
    • Soft cloth or rag
    • Screwdriver set
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
  • Ensure the engine is cool and parked on a flat surface.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical issues.
2. Remove Air Intake Duct
  • Use a screwdriver or socket set to loosen the clamps securing the air intake duct to the throttle body.
  • Carefully detach the duct, ensuring not to damage any connections.
3. Remove Throttle Body
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body by pressing the tab and pulling it out.
  • Unscrew the throttle body mounting bolts using the socket set.
  • Gently lift the throttle body away from the intake manifold. Take care not to damage the gasket; if it appears worn, it should be replaced.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a soft cloth or directly inside the throttle body.
  • Wipe down the inner surfaces, including the throttle plate, ensuring to remove carbon buildup and deposits.
  • Open the throttle plate manually (if safe to do so) to clean behind it thoroughly.
  • Allow the cleaner to dry completely.
5. Reinstall Throttle Body
  • Position the throttle body back onto the intake manifold, ensuring it aligns properly with the gasket.
  • Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 15-20 Nm, but consult the service manual for exact values).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
6. Reattach Air Intake Duct
  • Reconnect the air intake duct to the throttle body and secure it with clamps.
  • Double-check all connections are tight and secure.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reattach the negative battery terminal and ensure a solid connection.
