Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools (see Tools Required).
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
  • Allow the engine to cool if it has been running.
2. Change Engine Oil and Filter
  1. Drain Old Oil

    • Position an oil drain pan beneath the oil pan.
    • Remove the oil drain plug using the appropriate socket. Allow the oil to drain completely.
    • Reinstall the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 20-30 lb-ft).
  2. Replace Oil Filter

    • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
    • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter.
    • Install the new oil filter by hand and tighten it according to the manufacturer’s specs (usually hand-tight plus 3/4 turn).
  3. Refill Engine Oil

    • Remove the oil fill cap and pour in the recommended type and amount of engine oil.
    • Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, then check for leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit (if necessary)
  1. Locate the Sending Unit

    • Refer to the service manual for the location of the oil pressure sending unit.
  2. Remove and Replace

    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sending unit.
    • Use a socket to remove the sending unit. Install the new sending unit and tighten it to specified torque.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector.
