Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a well-ventilated area or has proper exhaust extraction.
2. Clean Throttle Body
  1. Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  2. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the throttle plate and bore.
  3. Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Replace Fuel Filter
  1. Locate the fuel filter under the vehicle or in the engine compartment.
  2. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the old filter using a line disconnect tool, ensuring to catch any spilled fuel.
  4. Install the new fuel filter in the correct orientation and reconnect the fuel lines.
  5. Reinstall the fuel pump fuse and turn the ignition to the "ON" position to prime the system.
4. Inspect and Replace Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (if needed)
  1. Locate the accelerator pedal position sensor mounted to the pedal assembly.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector carefully.
  3. Remove the sensor from the pedal assembly using a socket set.
  4. Install the new sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
5. Check and Replace MAF Sensor (if needed)
  1. Locate the MAF sensor typically situated between the air filter and throttle body.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor from its housing.
  3. Install the new MAF sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
