Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather Tools:
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Oil catch pan
    • Clean rags
    • Oil filter wrench
2. Fix Oil Pan Leak
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Raise the vehicle securely with jack stands.
    2. Place an oil catch pan under the oil pan to catch any residual oil.
    3. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan using a socket set.
    4. Carefully detach the oil pan and inspect the gasket for damage.
    5. Clean the mating surfaces with a solvent to remove old gasket material.
    6. Apply a new oil pan gasket or sealant as per manufacturer specifications.
    7. Reinstall the oil pan and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the oil filter and use an oil filter wrench to remove it.
    2. Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new oil filter with fresh oil.
    3. Install the new oil filter, tightening it by hand until snug, then an additional ¾ turn.
    4. Pour new engine oil into the engine through the oil filler cap.
4. Repair Valve Cover Gasket
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove any engine covers obstructing access to the valve cover.
    2. Unscrew the bolts securing the valve cover using a socket set.
    3. Carefully lift the valve cover off and inspect the gasket for wear or damage.
    4. Replace the gasket with a new one and reassemble the valve cover, tightening bolts to the specified torque.
