Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety.
2. Check and Refill Coolant
  • Locate the coolant reservoir and remove the cap.
  • If the coolant level is low, mix the appropriate type of coolant with water (50/50 ratio).
  • Slowly fill the reservoir to the recommended level and replace the cap.
3. Inspect the Heater Core
  • Remove the dash panel if necessary to access the heater core.
  • Check for leaks by inspecting the hoses connected to the heater core.
  • If blocked, flush the heater core with a suitable flushing agent.
4. Replace the Thermostat (if faulty)
  • Drain the coolant from the radiator.
  • Remove the thermostat housing bolts using a socket set.
  • Take out the old thermostat and replace it with a new one.
  • Reinstall the housing and torque bolts to the manufacturer’s specification.
5. Check/Replace the Heater Control Valve
  • Locate the heater control valve and disconnect the hoses.
  • Test the valve using a multimeter or replace it if it’s defective.
  • Reconnect the hoses and ensure they are secure.
6. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall any panels removed during the repair.
  • Reconnect the battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it reach operating temperature.
  • Check for hot air from the vents.
