Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before working on the AC system.
2. Recharge the Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant can, safety goggles, gloves
  • Connect the manifold gauge set to the AC service ports (high and low).
  • Start the engine and turn the AC to the maximum setting.
  • Check the pressure readings on the gauges. If low, proceed to recharge.
  • Attach the refrigerant can to the low-pressure port and slowly add refrigerant until the recommended pressure is achieved.
  • Disconnect the manifold gauge set and replace the service port caps.
3. Replace the AC Compressor (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, refrigerant recovery machine (if necessary)
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the AC compressor.
  • Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor pulley.
  • Unscrew the bolts holding the AC compressor and remove the unit.
  • Install the new AC compressor, tightening bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector and reattach the drive belt.
4. Replace the Cabin Air Filter (if blocked)
  • Tools Required: Basic hand tools (if necessary)
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel, usually behind the glove box.
  • Remove the panel and take out the old cabin air filter.
  • Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  • Reattach the access panel.
