Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Open the key fob by using a small flathead screwdriver to pry apart the two halves.
  • Remove the old battery (typically a CR2032 or CR2025) and dispose of it properly.
  • Insert a new battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing the correct direction.
  • Snap the key fob halves back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for about 5 seconds.
  • Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it.
  • Test the key fob to ensure it's functioning correctly.
4. Inspect Door Lock Actuators
  • Remove the door panel to access the door lock actuator.
  • Inspect the wiring harness for any damage or disconnections.
  • Test the door lock actuator with a multimeter to check for proper voltage and function.
  • Replace the door lock actuator if it is faulty.
