Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it was recently driven.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle depending on where the noise is most pronounced.
  • Secure with jack stands for safety.
3. Inspect Suspension Components
  • Shocks/Struts: Check for leaking fluid or physical damage. If damaged, remove the strut assembly by:
    • Detaching the top strut mount bolts using a socket set.
    • Releasing the lower strut bolts from the knuckle.
    • Remove the strut assembly.
  • Control Arms and Bushings: Inspect for wear or cracks. If bushings are worn, replace them by:
    • Removing the control arm bolts.
    • Pressing out old bushings and pressing in new ones.
  • Sway Bar Links: Inspect sway bar links for looseness. Replace if necessary by:
    • Removing the bolts at both ends of the sway bar link.
4. Reassemble Components
  • After replacing or repairing any faulty parts, reassemble the suspension components in reverse order.
  • Ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer’s specified torque settings.
5. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Recheck all fasteners for tightness after the vehicle is back on the ground.
