Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, timing belt kit, screwdrivers, jack and jack stands, engine support bar, OBD-II scanner.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before starting work. Allow the engine to cool completely.
2. Remove Engine Components
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the engine cover (if applicable) using the appropriate sockets.
  • Remove the air intake duct and air filter housing to access the engine bay.
  • Drain the engine coolant by removing the drain plug from the radiator.
3. Access Timing Belt
  • Use a jack to slightly lift the engine and support it with an engine support bar.
  • Remove the front engine mount bolts and lift the engine to gain access to the timing belt cover.
  • Remove the timing belt cover bolts and take off the cover.
4. Replace Timing Belt
  • Align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft to ensure proper timing.
  • Loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the old timing belt.
  • Install the new timing belt, ensuring it is properly aligned with the timing marks.
  • Tighten the tensioner according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
5. Reassemble Engine Components
  • Reinstall the timing belt cover and secure with bolts.
  • Lower the engine back into place and reinstall the engine mount.
  • Reconnect the air intake duct and air filter housing.
  • Refill the engine coolant and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
6. Final Checks
  • Start the engine and listen for any unusual noises.
  • Check for leaks around the timing cover and ensure the engine runs smoothly.
