Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, C-clamp or brake caliper tool, jack and jack stands, wheel chocks, gloves, and safety goggles.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels.
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels slightly while the vehicle is still on the ground.
  • Use the jack to raise the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels entirely.
3. Remove the Brake Calipers
  • Locate the caliper mounting bolts on the inner side of the caliper.
  • Using the socket set, remove the caliper mounting bolts.
  • Carefully slide the caliper off the brake rotor and support it with a bungee cord or hang it from the suspension (do not let it dangle by the brake line).
4. Replace the Brake Pads
  • Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket. Note their orientation for installation of the new pads.
  • Using the C-clamp or brake caliper tool, compress the caliper piston back into the caliper housing to make room for the new pads.
  • Install the new brake pads into the caliper bracket, ensuring they are positioned correctly.
5. Reassemble the Brake Components
  • Reposition the brake caliper over the new brake pads and align it with the rotor.
  • Reinstall and tighten the caliper mounting bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 25-35 Nm; check vehicle manual for specifics).
  • Repeat the process for the other side if necessary.
6. Reinstall the Wheels
  • Place the front wheels back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 120 Nm).
7. Final Checks
  • Pump the brake pedal several times to ensure the brake pads seat properly against the rotors.
  • Check the brake fluid level and top off if needed.
