Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical issues.
2. Change Transmission Fluid and Filter
  • Tools Required:

    • Socket set
    • Transmission fluid pump
    • Torque wrench
    • Drain pan
    • Funnel
  • Sub-steps:

    1. Place the drain pan under the transmission pan.
    2. Remove the transmission pan bolts using the socket set, then carefully lower the pan.
    3. Allow the old transmission fluid to fully drain into the pan.
    4. Remove the old transmission filter and replace it with a new one.
    5. Clean the transmission pan and magnet, then reinstall the pan with a new gasket, torqueing bolts to manufacturer specifications (usually around 10 Nm).
    6. Refill the transmission with the appropriate type of fluid (consult owner’s manual for specifications) through the dipstick tube using a funnel and fluid pump.
3. Inspect and Replace Throttle Position Sensor (if faulty)
  • Tools Required:

    • Multimeter
    • Screwdriver set
  • Sub-steps:

    1. Locate the throttle position sensor on the throttle body.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
    3. Use a multimeter to test the resistance across the sensor terminals according to the specifications in the service manual.
    4. If out of spec, remove the old sensor using a screwdriver and install the new sensor.
    5. Reconnect the electrical connector and ensure it’s secured.
4. Inspect Engine and Transmission Mounts
  • Tools Required:

    • Jack and jack stands
    • Torque wrench
  • Sub-steps:

    1. Lift the vehicle securely using the jack and jack stands.
    2. Inspect the engine and transmission mounts for any visible signs of wear, cracking, or deterioration.
    3. Replace any damaged mounts by removing the bolts and installing new mounts, ensuring to torque to manufacturer specifications.
