Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Oil catch pan, socket set, wrench set, oil filter wrench, new oil, and oil filter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues while working on the vehicle.
2. Check and Top Off Oil Level
  • Remove the oil filler cap located on top of the engine.
  • Using a funnel, add the appropriate type and amount of engine oil if the level is low. Refer to the owner’s manual for the correct oil specification.
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely.
3. Change Engine Oil and Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil catch pan, socket set, oil filter wrench.
  • Position the oil catch pan under the oil pan.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench and allow the old oil to drain completely into the pan.
  • Replace the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 25 Nm).
  • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Ensure the rubber O-ring comes off with the filter.
  • Install a new oil filter, applying a small amount of new oil to the O-ring for a good seal. Tighten by hand only.
  • Refill the engine with new oil through the oil filler cap.
4. Reset Oil Light
  • Use the vehicle’s menu or OBD-II scanner to reset the oil light after topping up or changing the oil and filter.
  • Follow the specific instructions for your model to clear the oil warning light.
