Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, timing belt kit, screwdrivers, pliers, engine support bar, jack and jack stands.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Covers
  • Remove the engine cover by unscrewing any fasteners.
  • Remove any plastic covers that may obstruct access to the timing belt.
3. Access Timing Belt
  • Remove the drive belt(s) by loosening the tensioner using a wrench and sliding the belt off the pulleys.
  • Disconnect any components blocking access to the timing belt (e.g., air intake duct, coolant hoses).
  • Remove the front timing cover by unscrewing the securing bolts.
4. Remove Old Timing Belt
  • Rotate the crankshaft to align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys.
  • Loosen the timing belt tensioner and remove the tension from the belt.
  • Carefully slide the old timing belt off the pulleys.
5. Install New Timing Belt
  • Place the new timing belt around the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys, ensuring the timing marks remain aligned.
  • Reinstall the tensioner and apply the specified torque to secure it.
  • Double-check the alignment of timing marks to ensure they are still correctly positioned.
6. Reassemble Components
  • Reinstall the front timing cover and secure it with bolts.
  • Reconnect any components removed for access, such as the drive belt(s), air intake duct, and coolant hoses.
  • Replace the engine cover and secure it.
7. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and listen for any unusual noises.
  • Check for leaks around the timing cover.
