Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Check and Replace Fuses
  • Locate the fuse box, typically found under the dashboard on the driver’s side or in the engine bay.
  • Use the fuse puller to remove the climate control fuse.
  • Inspect the fuse for continuity. If blown, replace it with a fuse of the same rating.
  • Reconnect the battery and test the defroster operation.
3. Inspect and Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any items.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access door (usually on the right side).
  • Remove the access cover and slide out the old cabin air filter.
  • Install a new cabin air filter ensuring correct orientation.
  • Replace the access cover and test the defroster.
4. Test and Replace Blower Motor
  • Remove the blower motor cover located under the passenger dashboard.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the blower motor retaining screws.
  • Pull out the blower motor and test it using a multimeter to check for proper operation.
  • If faulty, replace the blower motor with a new unit, reconnect all wiring, and secure it in place.
5. Inspect Blend Door Actuator
  • Remove the dashboard panel to access the HVAC housing.
  • Locate the blend door actuator and inspect for any physical damage or disconnection.
  • Use a multimeter to test the actuator for proper operation.
  • Replace the actuator if it does not function correctly.
  • Reassemble the dashboard and test the defroster again.
