Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set (including 10mm and 16mm sockets)
    • Torque wrench
    • Spark plug socket (with rubber insert)
    • Extension bar
    • Ratchet
    • Torque specs for new spark plugs
  • Parts Required:
    • New spark plugs (ensure they are the correct type for the engine)
    • Anti-seize compound (if recommended)
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure all electrical systems are turned off.
3. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
4. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the ignition coils.
  • Gently pull out each ignition coil to access the spark plugs.
5. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Using a spark plug socket and ratchet, carefully unscrew and remove each spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the old spark plugs for wear or damage.
6. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if applicable).
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plugs into the cylinder head to avoid cross-threading.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 22-30 Nm, but verify with the service manual).
7. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Place each ignition coil back into its corresponding position and secure it with bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to the ignition coils.
8. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Position the engine cover back in place and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
9. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
