Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to ensure safety.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Using a socket wrench, remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, socket set
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from each ignition coil.
  • Remove the bolts securing each ignition coil using a socket wrench.
  • Carefully pull out the ignition coils from their respective cylinder head ports.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket, ratchet, extension bar
  • Use a spark plug socket attached to a ratchet and extension to unscrew and remove the old spark plugs from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for wear or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, spark plug socket
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Carefully thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand, then use a torque wrench to tighten them to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 22 lb-ft or 30 Nm).
  • Avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to the cylinder head.
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, socket set
  • Position the ignition coils back into their respective ports.
  • Secure them with bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Replace Engine Cover
  • Reattach the engine cover and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
