Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, compression tester.
  • Gather necessary parts and tools.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  1. Remove the ignition coil cover if necessary.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil.
  3. Remove the ignition coil from cylinder 2 using a socket set.
  4. Unscrew the spark plug using the appropriate spark plug socket.
  5. Inspect the old spark plug for signs of wear or damage.
  6. Install a new spark plug, ensuring the gap is set according to manufacturer specifications.
  7. Reinstall the ignition coil over the new spark plug and reconnect the electrical connector.
3. Replace Ignition Coil
  1. If the ignition coil was found to be faulty, replace it by following the steps in section 2.
  2. Ensure the new ignition coil is seated properly and all connections are secure.
4. Clean or Replace Fuel Injector
  1. Disconnect the fuel line and electrical connector from the fuel injector.
  2. Remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail.
  3. Inspect the injector for clogs; clean it with a fuel injector cleaner or replace it if necessary.
  4. Reinstall the fuel injector and reconnect the fuel line and electrical connector.
5. Compression Test
  1. Remove the spark plug from cylinder 2.
  2. Attach the compression tester into the spark plug hole.
  3. Crank the engine for a few seconds and record the compression reading.
  4. Compare the reading to manufacturer specifications; if low, further engine diagnostics may be necessary.
